INTRODUCTION

Compression-folding Schildknecht Flexing Tester is designed to determine the resistance of coated fabrics to damage by flexing due to standard given speed. Accommodates 10 specimens, provided with a settable electronic counter to record number of cycles, automatic stop when reach preset testing numbers.

TEST PRINCIPLE

Rectangular strips of coated fabric are placed around two opposite cylinders to give the sample a cylindrical shape. One of the cylinders reciprocates along its axis, causing the coated fabric cylinder to compress and relax alternately, resulting in overlap on the sample. This folding of the coated fabric drum continues until a predetermined number of cycles or significant failure occurs to the specimen.
