Instrument Introduction:

After weighing and measuring the area, the instep is placed on a platform soaked in a gentle stream of water. The instep is then pressed against a roller and repeatedly bent. After a set period of time, the instep is weighed again to measure its water absorption. The instep is then hung in a standard environment for 24 hours and weighed again. The ratio of the amount of water volatilized after absorption to the amount of water absorbed is the water absorption index of the midsole material.
